IYFC @ Independence OR (7S5)

One of the region’s newest flying clubs, Independence Youth Flying Club’s (IYFC) charter is to make flying safer, affordable, and more accessible to the next generation of flyers. Enjoy flying our well equipped fleet, broaden your flight experience, and help you achieve those new ratings for your logbook.

Our planes are meant to be taken on cross country trips — they’re well equipped with modern avionics for long flights and are a great way to building time. Best of all, we strive to have the lowest flying rates in the area and we do this through the support of our generous donors, and volunteer who help maintain our fleet of aircraft. And when it comes to safety, we don’t compromise. Our aircraft are well-maintained and inspected by certified experts who go above and beyond to ensure fleet safety. Routine maintenance is standard and we have a strong safety culture in our club including policies that prioritize flight safety for our members.

As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization, our mission also includes continuing aviation education for our members and community, and we actively participate with the local flying community to help make these opportunities possible. You will find our fleet participating in Young Eagles events, and many of our members are active in aviation safety programs like the EAA IMC/VMC Club. We welcome new donors and supports who want to help share the joy of aviation and ensure its continued growth into the future.

Note that our club is currently limited to pilots (both youth and adult) that already have their Private Pilot’s License (PPL). The planes are not currently permitted for primary flight training. They can however be used for advanced flight training like getting your instrument certificate.
